Juice Review – Strawberry Melt by PRMYUM E-Liquid

PRMYUM - Strawberry Melt

Strawberry  Melt by PRMYUM E-liquids is described as a strawberry homemade ice cream stuffed inside a waffle cone. We all remember getting one of these from the corner store when we were kids but the real question is, how does this hold up when translated to an e-liquid? Let’s see if this is going to be a trip down memory lane or create a new horrible memory in our brain!

What Is PRMYUM juice?

Up until this point, I had never heard of PRMYUM juice. I was intrigued by the name and started taking a closer look at the brand. I discovered that they have been around since late 2015 then officially launched in March of 2016 and all of their juice is crafted in  California.

They have four flavors to choose from including Creme of the Crop, Watermelon Melt, Blueberry Melt, and Strawberry Melt. Strawberry Melt is the topic at hand today. The description officially reads: “Traditional soft serve, strawberry ice cream topped off with waffle crunch cones to accentuate the vanilla and strawberry.”

I picked my bottle of PRMYUM Strawberry Melt up over at Premium Vape Supply, where they are selling 120ml bottles for $21.95.  If you shop at  a physical vape store that charges 25 bucks for a 60ml bottle you simply cannot beat the price. The VG/PG blend is 75/25, so expect some moderate clouds.

Smell, Taste & Vapor Test

When you take the wrapper off of the bottle you can faintly smell strawberries. Surely this is a good sign, right? A couple seconds later I unscrewed the childsafe cap, put my nose to the bottle,  and took a big whiff.

Uh oh. Upon my first up-close-and-personal smell I got hit in the face with strawberry, but not natural strawberry.  It smelled a lot like chemical cleaner mixed with strawberries, which instantly made me nervous. In my experience, if it smells like chemicals, it tastes like chemicals. Oddly,  there was no smell of waffle cone or vanilla in this juice.  Let’s go in for a taste test.

I loaded up my tank. It appeared to be properly steeped, as it was a light brown.  However, after a puff of Strawberry Melt, one thing was crystal clear, much like the smell, this juice does not taste anything like vanilla or waffle cone.  The strawberry was good, nothing top-notch, but good — especially considering my fear that it was going to taste like kitchen cleaner.

The inhale gave me a strong taste of strawberries. There was decent favor production and a good balance of sweetness and throat hit. The exhale was more of the same, except I got a little taste of cream on the end.  This is likely their justification of the strawberry “ice cream” flavor, yet there is still no sign of the cone on either inhale or exhale.

After finishing a whole tank I have to admit, it passes as a strawberry ice cream e-juice.

Vape or pass?

Every “good” ice cream + cone flavor that I have tried featured the flavor (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry etc.) ice cream on inhale, followed by the flavoring + cone exhale.  This has none of that, so do not expect to taste waffle cone if you buy this juice.

The only thing I could come up with is maybe it needs to steep more before the flavor of the cone comes out. It looked pretty well steeped when it was delivered, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt. I put it in my “steep box” and will be giving you guys an update on whether it improves over time.
